You don’t have to go to New York for innovative dance -- or wait for an NYC company to visit. Inspired choreography happens here, too, and Dawn Karlovsky proves it yet again with Exposed, a contemporary dance concert. Through this performance, twelve local dancers dig in and uncover almost everything: They experiment with dance and film, explore interpersonal relationships and the idea of intimacy and quirk out to an original score by St. Louis’ own Tory Z Starbuck. They even pay homage to onetime St. Louisan and the King of Ragtime, Scott Joplin. Exposed lays bare all of this and more at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday (March 9 and 10) at the Center of Creative Arts (524 Trinity Avenue, University City; 314-725-6555 or www.cocastl.org). Tickets cost $10 to $15, and you can learn more by visiting www.annonyarts.org.
