The bond between man and horse is a complex and emotional one. Yes, some might liken the creatures to living, breathing automobiles, but the relationship between a modern commuter and her Ford Focus will never rival that of the human and her horse. Cavalia: A Magical Encounter Between Human and Horse celebrates this ancient alliance through Cirque du Soleil-inspired performance art, in which the horses are not mere props, but the stars of the show -- maintaining impressive poise and professionalism while bipedal acrobats leap and trot about them. The horses take over at the Cavalia White Big Top (1000 Cerre Street) at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21. Performances continue Tuesday to Sunday through April 8; showtimes vary.
