Daniel Lefcourt experiments with texture in his newest exhibit, Mockup, using various types of boards and paper to create three-dimensional pieces that are at once subdued and energetic. Substrate creates the illusion of movement as lines of varying lengths appear ready to continue off the canvas, while fiberboard panels and sawdust are accented with the warmth of a light projector in Passive Surplus. These works and more will be on display at White Flag Projects (4568 Manchester Avenue; 314-531-3442 or www.whiteflagprojects.com) beginning with a free reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 19. The exhibit will remain on display Tuesday through Saturday until May 26.
