Tough to say whether the performance adds anything to the salad, but the two I tried — the "Hail Caesar" (romaine lettuce, Parmesan cheese, croutons and a creamy dressing) and the "Cowpoke Smoke" (tender, smoked brisket and very spicy fried jalapeño "straws" with field greens, tomatoes, red onion, blue cheese and green goddess dressing) — were good.

The separate salad assembly line does cause confusion, though. First-timers who order pizza don't necessarily know they can skip the green line and pay.

This place epitomizes the type of "meh" mediocrity that plagues Downtown Clayton (yet somehow people still gobble this shit up). The salads were extremely bland and the whole "chopped" gimmick made me feel like I was eating dog food rather than a nice salad with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The pizza was a lot better than the salad but was still doughy and undercooked. Also, the name "Crushed Red" is misleading as it sounds like a wine bar, which I would have much preferred over another mediocre "fast casual" concept.
