More About

Whether you’re a city slicker or you call the wide, open range home, access to healthy food is important. Across the United States small farms are struggling to survive and to provide people with wholesome food options. If you reside on one of these small farms, then you understand firsthand the pressures that agribusinesses and factory farms put on the families who own them. The Food on Film series presented by Slow Food St. Louis aims to whet your appetite for sustainable food and provide you with the motivation to get involved. This year's series kicks off tonight at Schlafly Bottleworks (7260 Southwest Avenue, Maplewood) with Kristin Canty’s documentary, Farmageddon. The film educates the concerned eater on sustainable food issues while illuminating the tribulations that small family farms face, such as USDA raids. Bottleworks' full menu of brewed-on-site beer and locally grown and raised food will be available for the 7:30 p.m. screening, and a $5 suggested donation gets you in the door. For questions or concerns call 314-241-2337 or visit www.schlafly.com.
