More About

Earlier this year the directors of Laumeier Sculpture Park laid out a new mission statement. They re-envisioned the park as a “living laboratory,” wherein visitors can explore the relationships between contemporary art and the natural environment. Laumeier's newest exhibition, Camp Out: Finding Home in an Unstable World, exemplifies this refreshed approach by allowing artists the opportunity to experiment with the concept of temporary shelter as art. The project has attracted top talent from around the world, including the United Kingdom’s Oliver Bishop-Young, France’s Cyprien Gaillard and Canada's BGL artist collective. The opening reception will run from 5 to 7 p.m. this Saturday at the sculpture park (12580 Rott Road, Sunset Hills; 314-615-5278 or laumeiersculpturepark.org). Entry is free and the work will be on display through September 16.
