More About

St. Louis photographer Odell Mitchell Jr. is a jack-of-all-trades within his trade. Not only is he a talented and experienced photojournalist (his résumé includes a 25-year career at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch), Mitchell's portfolio includes fashion, food, portraiture, sports, travel and more. The Sheldon Concert Hall and Art Galleries (3648 Washington Boulevard; 314-533-9900) presents Odell Mitchell, Jr. Retrospective, featuring his personal and professional work from the last 30 years. The exhibition opens (simultaneously with Anomalous Perspectives: The 2011 Critical Mass Creative Stimulus Award Exhibition) with a free reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 8. The retrospective will remain on display through September 1, and Mitchell will lead a Sheldon Master Class photography workshop on Saturday, July 14, at which artists will be encouraged to bring up to six prints for critique and discussion.
