Local filmmaker Bill Streeter is something of a patron saint to a whole host of St. Louis musicians. His long-running Lo-Fi Saint Louis series has chronicled bands and performers plying their trade in varied locales ranging from dive bars to the City Museum to a recent spate of videos filmed on Cherokee Street. But his most ambitious project came out last year, and it told the story of one of our town’s most distinct architectural traits: red brick. Streeter’s documentary Brick By Chance and Fortune: A Saint Louis Story explores the factors that helped color St. Louis with a chalky red hue. The film will be shown daily between now and August 31 at the Missouri History Museum (Lindell and DeBaliviere in Forest Park) as part of the Fire! Friend or Foe exhibit.
