More About

If we as a nation could find a way to harness the enthusiasm on display at the St. Louis Jaycee's All-American Soap Box Derby, the planet's energy crisis would be solved. Subtitled the “Thrill on the Hill,” the derby has a proven track record as a clean, renewable source of power, with kids between the ages of eight and seventeen piloting their motorless soap box gravity racers across the finish line in an effort to advance to the International Soap Box Circuit. The races will run this Sunday come rain or shine from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Macklind Avenue on the Hill (between Shaw and Columbia avenues). Admission to the derby and the accompanying classic-car show is free, so stop your engines and race to www.aasbd.org for all the details.
Sun., June 10, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., 2012
