More About

Avery Danziger's latest exhibition calls to mind a certain fascinating and terrifying television documentary series called Life After People. Through a series of dramatizations and computer generated shots and with the help of scientists, engineers and other experts, the show explored what would happen to our world if all human beings suddenly just...disappeared. With no one to man nuclear reactors or put out fires, there's a terrifying period of quiet disaster wherein cities crumble and animals starve inside locked houses. But after the initial drama, a quiet sets in. Animals thrive, flowers grow, dilapidated buildings disappear into ivy vines. Transformations presents still images from similar isolated situations after years of human absence, relishing in the eerie stillness and simple beauty.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: June 22. Continues through Aug. 5, 2012
