Waste enough time on YouTube and you’ve no doubt seen fan-made edits of major motion pictures, trimming the fat and condensing the highlights into action-packed montages. This miracle of selective editing is not new to the Internet age, however -- in the ’70s, Super-8 film strips were released, shrinking the running time down to about fifteen minutes. (Who needs exposition or dialogue when there are fights, pratfall or ‘splosions to be seen?) Tonight at 8 p.m. the Way Out Club (2525 South Jefferson Avenue; 314-664-7638) honors these visual remixes with Super-8 Movie Madness. For only $3, view classics such as Logan’s Run, The Poseidon Adventure, The Mummy’s Ghost and more Mystery Science Theater-worthy B-grade flicks screened back-to-back.
