Each year the Gateway to the West hosts a giant birthday party to celebrate America and its many freedoms -- such as our right to blow stuff up, rock out and eat regrettable foods in the name of patriotism. Fair Saint Louis all begins at 7 a.m. with a series of fun runs, followed by the VP Parade (Fourth Street and Washington Avenue) at 10 a.m., air shows (at noon and 3:30 p.m.), cultural performances, tons of live music (including an 8 p.m. concert with Heart) and, of course, one of the greatest fireworks shows in the country.
