Buzz Spector's work has graced the walls of galleries and museums across the country, and his critical insights illuminate the St. Louis visual-arts set -- not to mention the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University, where he serves as dean of the college and graduate school of art. A St. Louis transplant by way of Chicago, Spector studied art at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale before launching a wildly successful career that's spanned more than 30 years. On Saturday, September 15, Spector visits the Bruno David Gallery (3721 Washington Boulevard; 314-531-3030) for a book-signing and release party celebrating Buzzwords: Interviews with Buzz Spector, featuring a selection of interviews with Spector conducted over the course of his three-decade career. Not only does Buzzwords give further insight and meditation on Spector's works, it also includes newly designed page art produced by Spector specifically for the book. This event runs from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.sararanchouse.com.
