Roller derby isn't exactly bloodsport, but it occasionally breaks the skin and bruises the kiester. Watch St. Louis' first and only local female derby league, the Arch Rival Roller Girls, jam, pivot and block opponents into submission at this year's season opener tonight at Midwest Sport Hockey in Queeny Park (570 Weidman Road). The wheels begin turning at 7 p.m. with the first bout pitting the Smashinistas and Rebel Skate Alliance against one another, with a second bout at 8:30 p.m. (Stunt Devils vs. M-80s). An after party at Atomic Cowboy (4140 Manchester Avenue) follows. Tickets are free for children 10 and younger; adult tickets cost $12 to $15.
