More About

While celebrities Tom Selleck, Wilford Brimley and Geraldo Rivera are to be commended for their mustache-growing prowess, few would argue that Burt Reynolds' iconic lip-sweater set the standard against which all soup-strainers must be measured. Tonight, in honor of the '70s greatest mustache, the Way Out Club (2525 South Jefferson Avenue; 314-664-7638) hosts a special edition of Super-8 Burt Reynolds Movie Madness, which also doubles as a fundraiser for the National Children's Cancer Society. The main event is a screening of Burt's smash hit Smokey and the Bandit, in its entirety, from a 16mm print. In keeping with the Super-8 ethos, 15-minute long cuts of Burt's most memorable mustachioed moments from Shamus and 100 Rifles, plus some vintage, sans-'stache Reynolds in The Longest Yard, will also be shown. Admission is $4 and the show starts at 8 p.m.
Tue., Dec. 4, 2012
