All Squared Away

Lafayette Square is one of those St. Louis neighborhoods that went through a rough patch and emerged stronger and more beautiful for it. It's also a neighborhood that believes in sharing that beauty with the rest of the city come the holiday season. Glimpse the opulently decked halls of some of its most stately homes at the Lafayette Square Holiday Parlor Tour, today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Self-guided sneak peeks take two to three hours on foot, and there will be a complimentary trolley carrying looky-loos along the route as well. The tour starts at the Park House inside Lafayette Park (2023 Lafayette Avenue) near Lafayette and Mississippi avenues. All proceeds from the Parlor Tour benefit the Lafayette Square Restoration Committee, which works to restore and retain the homes and culture of the neighborhood. Tickets cost $15 to $20.
