What's interesting about St. Louis is that it's possible to live here a long time and never avail oneself of the grandeur of our Cathedral Basilica (4431 Lindell Boulevard) -- parked pretty much smack-dab in the middle of the greater metro area. A quarter of a million people visit our famous cathedral every year, but you, the full-time St. Louisan, could easily go years without setting foot in the place. Do yourself a favor and plant those feet in it tonight for Christmas at the Cathedral. The Archdiocesan Adult Choir, Children's Choir, Handbell Choir and Orchestra presents a festive program of old and new Christmas classics featuring Camille Saint-Saens' Oratorio de Noel, Opus 12, perhaps better known as the "Christmas Oratorio." The venue couldn't be more impressive and the music is designed to match it; it's a win-win for everyone. The Christmas at the Cathedral performance takes place at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday (December 15 and 16).
