Remember last summer? This year's version of the heat isn't as far off as you'd like to believe. Get outside while the getting's good. Head to Steinberg Skating Rink in Forest Park (400 Jefferson Drive; 314-367-7465 or www.steinbergskatingrink.com) and enjoy its nice big sheet of ice, which happens to come with a fantastic view of Forest Park's rejuvenated waterway -- don't be surprised if you see ducks and other waterfowl winging overhead while you practice your figure eights. And you won't go hungry, either; once you've worked up a sweat, the Snowflake Cafe is right there. Admission is $6, and skate rental for those in need is another $4.
