Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he's out of the house most weekends. And even though it's a little cold and windy right now for most anglers, this is a good weekend to indulge your love of the rod and reel sports. The Gateway Let's Go Fishing Show returns to the Gateway Center (1 Gateway Drive, Collinsville, Illinois; 618-288-9952 or www.letsgoshows.com) this Friday through Sunday (January 4 through 6), and with it comes everything you need to restock your tackle box. Dozens of companies and retail outlets set up shop, offering deals and sneak peeks at the latest fishing technology from lures to boats. There are fishing activities for the small fry as well, and pro bass fisherman Paul Elias, Alton Jones and Brent Ehler conduct seminars throughout the weekend. Hours for the Gateway Let's Go Fishing Show are noon to 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday; admission is $3.50 to $7.
