In playwright Charles Marowitz's comedic suspense thriller Stage Fright, critic F.F. Charnick spares no words in his reviews of an impressionable young actress of the old school. After being savaged in dozens of write-ups, Mitzi concocts an elaborate scheme to get revenge, by kidnapping the critic and making him sit through a series of increasingly unnerving dramatic recitations, which he fears are leading up to his last exit, stage right. Gather together your harshest critics and take in the Theatre Guild of Webster Groves' production of Stage Fright at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday (January 11 through 20). Performances take place at the Theatre Guild of Webster Groves (517 Theatre Lane, Webster Groves; 314-962-0876 or www.theatreguildwg.org), and admission is $12 to $15.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Jan. 11. Continues through Jan. 20, 2013
