For those still in college, this is a magical week. The younger siblings are back at school, the parents have returned to work and you still have some time before you get back to matriculatin'. Rather than spend the week on the davenport enjoying The Price Is Right (Bob Barker's facelift makes him look like an old Drew Carey, doesn't it?), get out and enjoy the weather. Hidden Valley Ski Resort (17409 Hidden Valley Drive, Eureka; 636-938-5373 or www.hiddenvalleyski.com) knows you're bored, and has the solution: College Week. This Monday through Friday (January 7 through 11), Hidden Valley offers a steep discount on lift tickets and ski or snowboard rental. Normal lift ticket prices are $37 to $45, but bring your valid college ID and get 50 percent off lift tickets and ski/board rental. The resort is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday.
