Honky-tonk hellcat Nikki Lane hasn't broken through to any New York runways or Nashville star searches, but she puts a wrinkle to the rule with sparkling style and mischievous twang. Based in Music City, Lane delivers her heartbroken tales with the wayward wail of a granddaughter to Wanda Jackson and the doomed neo-soul of a kindred spirit to Amy Winehouse. She can drink you under the table and still come up looking finer than the over-coiffed stars she writes and sings rings around.
