Is January too early to start thinking about baseball in St. Louis? Ah, trick question: Thinking about baseball is a year-round pursuit in this town. And besides, if it's January that means it's time for the Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up, the annual get-together of players and fans that benefits the team's charitable foundation. This year's edition takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday (January 19 through 21) at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis (315 Chestnut Street).You can bid in several auctions on items ranging from a team-signed Ibanez electric guitar to an 18-inch statue of Red Schoendienst created by Harry Weber, current and former Cards will be at the event signing autographs, and tour Busch Stadium -- including the normally off-limits Cardinals clubhouse. Admission is $10 to $40, and most players will charge additional fees for their autographs -- visit www.cardinals.com/winterwarmup to see the current schedule and prices.
