Good news! Some of the most impeccable theater in town is returning -- on a movie screen. Once again the Landmark Tivoli Theater (6350 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-727-7271 or www.landmarktheatres.com) hosts National Theatre Live, a three-play series of London shows transcribed live throughout the world (though shown on a slightly delayed basis here). This season's premiere offering, Sir Arthur Wing Pinero's 1885 farce The Magistrate with John Lithgow in the title role, screens at 11 a.m. Saturday (February 9 and 16). The fun kicks in after a widow remarries a respected magistrate and lies about her age, which in turn forces her to lie about...actually, you don't need to know the story in advance. Between the chuckles and the guffaws, the plot will neatly fall into place. Tickets are $15 to $20.
