Rethinking Homelessness

The chronic issue of homelessness in St. Louis is something that's easy to ignore. Many of the victims of homelessness are out of sight, hence out of mind. But no problem is ever solved by ignoring it. Today the Missouri History Museum (Lindell Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue; 314-746-4599 or www.mohistory.org) hosts Making Homelessness History: Innovations that Work in St. Louis, an all-day program of presentations, seminars, film screenings and discussions on possible solutions that will help get people off the streets and into safe places. Organized by the Continuum of Care, a network of 60 agencies that provide aid to the homeless, the day starts at 1 p.m., with screenings of the documentaries Show of Strength and Dignity Harbor at 4:15 and 4:445 p.m., and the keynote lecture starts at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
