For the second year running, That Uppity Theatre Company partners with Vital Voice to present Briefs: A Festival of Short LGBT Plays at La Perla (312 North Eighth Street) at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday (February 28 through March 3). Each evening of Briefs features seven, ten-minute plays written by local and national playwrights and directors -- including St. Louis talents Joan Lipkin and Marty Stanberry -- with a brief Q&A following each performance. During breaks between the plays discussion will be encouraged with live music and a cash bar, and after curtain call La Perla will remain open, inviting guests to mingle, discuss, drink and dance. Tickets cost $15 to $20 and are available through www.brownpapertickets.com.
