The New York City Ballet is a 100-dancer strong company with its own orchestra, which makes touring logistically difficult. Fortunately, the company is helmed by nimble thinkers -- they've selected a smaller corps of 20 dancers to take the NYCB on the road, bringing great dance to the people nationwide. This new group, New York City Ballet MOVES, performs at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday (March 9 and 10) at the Fox Theatre (527 North Grande Boulevard; 314-534-1768 or www.fabulousfox.com). With the vast repertory of the main company to choose from -- more than 150 dance pieces by great choreographers such as Christopher Wheeldon and George Balanchine -- NYCB MOVES has prepared a doozy of a show. Scheduled pieces include Balanchine's Polyphonia, Ulysses Dove's Red Angels and Jerome Robbins' dramatic In the Night, which is set to the piano of Frederic Chopin. Tickets are $40 to $80.
