The Saint Louis Science Center's Nano Days is actually a pretty amazing opportunity to learn about a cutting-edge technology. Sure, a lot of kids would rather just lump on the couch, Macintosh Newton in hand, but this is every young (and old) would-be Wesley Crusher's chance to experiment with nanotechnologies. Nanotech is focused on matter manipulation at the atomic level, which yields practical results in the fields of medicine, semiconductor physics and organic chemistry. Today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Saint Louis Science Center (5050 Oakland Avenue; 314-289-4400 or www.slsc.org), university researchers and science center staff lead demonstrations and hands-on activities that will enable you to explore the sub-atomic world. Admission to Nano Days is free.
