Finding a decent child-care service is one of the hidden headaches of parenthood. You need a convenient location that's within your price range, and it has to have space to accept your kids. And then comes that moment when you actually have to drop your kid off and drive away, leaving little Philbert with strangers for the first time. It's heartwrenching. Andrew and Anita are navigating the process currently for their son, Noah. They drop in on a reputable service and assure the staff that Noah is "totally normal -- except with some differences." And now the negotiation begins in earnest. OnSite Theatre Company presents Margaret Stamell's play Childcare in an actual childcare center to heighten the tension for any parents in the audience. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and 5 and 8 p.m. Saturday (March 29 through April 13) at the Downtown Children's Center (607 North 22nd Street; 314-686-0062 or www.onsitetheatre.org). Tickets are $20.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: March 29. Continues through April 13, 2013
