Stories come alive on the printed page, certainly, but they really spring into action on the stage, especially when dancers use their strength and flexibility to do the telling. Don't believe us? Head out to Lindenwood University's J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts (2300 West Clay Street, St. Charles; www.lindenwood.edu/center) for an unusual presentation of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra's tale of the adventures of Don Quixote, as told by the Russian National Ballet. Watch as talented dancers in vibrant costumes turn, jump and otherwise awaken the Spain of Don Quixote and share his attempts at chivalry, all through the choreography of Marius Petipa and music by Leon Minkus. The one-night-only performance is scheduled for 8 p.m., and tickets for this ballet cost $26.50 to $54.50; call 636-949-4433 for more information.
