It's the first Tuesday of the month, which means its time for Super-8 Movie Madness. Curator Tom Stockman has been presenting a series of themed programs, but this month he's decided to forgo the organizing concept and just go big. Tonight at 8 p.m. at the Way Out Club (2525 South Jefferson Avenue; 314-664-7638), he screens a four-pack of plus-size films: The Empire Strikes Back, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, The Magnificent Seven and The Island will all be screened in two-reel versions averaging 35 minutes each. But those 35 minutes are just the good stuff from each film. Other flicks on the bill will be the usual ten (or so) minute cuts of classics such as Astro Zombies, Night at the Opera and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Hmm, maybe there is a theme here -- stone cold classics? Admission is cheap at $3, so get there early and have a good time.
