You will not see the finished project at the opening reception for Hap Phillips and Nita Turnage: We See Saw art installation at 6 p.m. Friday, June 21, in the Millstone Gallery at the Center of Creative Arts (524 Trinity Avenue, University City; 314-725-6555 or www.cocastl.org). What you will see is an idea machine being switched on. Phillips and Turnage, founders of the recurring Artica festival, plan to bring some of that same inclusiveness and inspiration to the children who attend COCA's summer camps with We See Saw by creating the beginnings of a collaborative endeavor. The gallery will be transformed into an interactive environment that challenges you to see this part of the world from another point of view; the plan is for this altered environment to continue to change throughout the summer as students and campers make art in response to it and add to it their own work. We See Saw remains on display — and in development -- through Sunday, August 18. The gallery is open daily.
