For those with a 9-to-5, the Saint Louis Science Center (5050 Oakland Avenue; 314-289-4400 or www.slsc.org) is usually just a weekend kind of place, and visits there have to be squeezed in with all of the other weekend kind of activities. If only there were a machine at the science-focused attraction that added hours in the day! While we get to work on inventing that contraption, the folks at the Science Center have a solution in the meantime: They will be keeping the doors open late (until 8 p.m.) on select Thursdays this summer (including August 1, 8 and 15) -- good call! Now, not only can we enjoy all of the center's regular attractions, but also we'll be getting special discounted admission to OMNIMAX Theater films and Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science, an interactive exhibition, complete with real mummies! Theater tickets are on sale for $5 to $6, and you can visit Lost Egypt for $8 to $9, which is, of course, way cheaper than a plane ticket to the faraway land.
Thursdays. Starts: Aug. 1. Continues through Aug. 15, 2013
