It just doesn't feel like the Halloween season for us until a few things have happened: Bite-size candies need to be at arm's reach 24/7, the smell of pumpkin guts and dried leaves should fill the air, and "The Time Warp" has to play on repeat in our heads, thanks to a recent viewing of Rocky Horror. Whether we make it to a film screening of this cult classic or to a performance of the original play makes no difference to us, so long as we have a chance to watch the betrothed Brad and Janet loosen up, thanks to a fellow named Frank N. Furter, at least once a spooky season. The Department of Theatre, Dance and Media Studies at the University of Missouri-St. Louis helps us out by presenting The Rocky Horror Show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday (October 10 through 13) at the Touhill Performing Arts Center on UMSL's campus (1 University Boulevard). This play version will delight with songs and fun and Time Warping, of course, and all for just $10 ($5 for students). To make your ticket purchase, call 314-516-4949 or visit www.touhill.org, and leave the rice at home (but you can probably sneak in a few tiny Snickers just in case your blood sugar drops).
