We've been overrun by zombies for a solid decade now. The exact start of the zombie resurgence is difficult to pinpoint, but shortly after the turn of the millennium hordes of zombie flicks (28 Days Later, Shaun of The Dead) stormed theaters, The Walking Dead stumbled into comic shops and then TV screens, and Plants vs. Zombies infested our mobile devices. But all these roads shamble back to George Romero's 1968 film Night of the Living Dead. Tonight at 7:30 p.m. the Webster Film Series presents Birth of the Living Dead, which documents how Romero and his writing and production partner David Russo animated the Pittsburgh community to create one of the most influential films of the 20th century. A discussion with Russo follows the screening, which takes place in the Moore Auditorium (470 East Lockwood Avenue; 314-968-7487 or www.webster.edu/filmseries). Admission is $5 to $6.
