The city of Ephesus is rocked by perceived identity theft in Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors. Antipholus and his servant Dromio show up in search of the former's long-lost brother (they were separated by a storm at sea years ago), but no matter where the duo goes in this strange city, they soon discover they were just there. Everyone either gives them gifts or claims to be Antipholus' wife and begs not to be abandoned. To be fair, only one woman makes that claim, but Adriana is an insistent woman. Antipholus and Dromio's newfound high life takes a turn for the worse when Antipholus discovers he prefers the company of "his" sister-in-law, and when bizarre rumors of outstanding debts arise and a courtesan with an ax to grind claims Antipholus is insane. He may well be before all of this is sorted out. St. Louis Shakespeare presents The Comedy of Errors at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday (October 18 through 26) at the Florissant Civic Center (Parker Road and Waterford Drive, Florissant; 314-361-5664 or www.stlshakespeare.org). Tickets are $15 to $25.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Oct. 18. Continues through Oct. 26, 2013
