More About

It is the eve of WWII in London, and people are contemplating what the future holds. Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, knows his time is short. Oral cancer is killing him slowly, but he still possesses his fearsome intellect, even if conversation is now painful for him. C.S. Lewis, author and reawakened Christian, has no idea how much time he personally has left, but his faith assures him he'll have eternal life regardless of what happens. Mark St. Germain's drama Freud's Last Session imagines a meeting between these two learned men that allows them to discuss their differences. Freud is an atheist and wants to know more about why Lewis re-embraced his lapsed faith; Lewis, for his part, explains what religion means to him, and to the larger world of believers. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis presents Freud's Last Session Tuesday through Sunday (October 30 through November 23) in the Emerson Studio Theatre at the Loretto-Hilton Center on Webster University's campus (130 Edgar Road; 314-968-4925 or www.repstl.org). Tickets are $49 to $63.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Oct. 30. Continues through Nov. 23, 2013
