The Missouri Botanical Garden (4344 Shaw Boulevard; 314-577-5100 or www.mobot.org) needn't be thought of as merely a three-season attraction. Sure, it's a beautiful place to visit anytime during the spring, summer and fall, but don't exclude winter from the seasonal bouquet -- especially this winter. This year, for the very first time in the garden's long and illustrious history, MOBOT hosts its own winter light exhibit. Garden Glow 2013 will feature hundreds of thousands of light installations scattered throughout the Botanical Gardens' main buildings and along its many walkways. The exhibit includes a traditional candlelight village as well, and food and drink stations will cater to Glow-goers. Garden Glow 2013 is open 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday evenings (November 23 to December 19); and from 5 to 10 p.m. every night (Friday, December 20 through January 4, 2014; closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve). Ticket prices are $16 to $18 and sold in limited quantities, so it's best to act quickly to ensure you get a glimpse of this historic light show. To purchase tickets visit www.mobot.org/glow.
