If you found the 2003 Will Ferrell movie Elf charming but a bit lacking in the song-and-dance department, get ready for a much more musical version. The Broadway adaptation, Elf the Musical, has a sleigh-full of new songs and several more dance numbers, but the story remains the same. Buddy is a human who was raised among the elves of Santa's workshop and now journeys to New York to find his biological father. In the process he finds true love in a store and helps save Santa, Christmas and his newfound family. Elf the Musical plays Tuesday through Sunday (December 17 through 29) at the Fox Theatre (527 North Grand Boulevard; 314-534-1111 or www.fabulousfox.com); there are no performances on Tuesday, December 24, or Wednesday, December 25 (Buddy has prior commitments). Tickets are $25 to $80.
