Winter is gross in St. Louis. The brown and gray landscape does nothing to stimulate change in the new year, and it is just cold enough to not want to do anything, but not so cold that it drives you into a crazy winter force of nature, building cabins and fighting bears (except for two weeks ago). Thankfully, the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts (3716 Washington Boulevard; 314-754-1850 or www.pulitzerarts.org) has joined sparklemotion forces with GlitterBomb Productions to provide a welcome distraction, the About Face Drag Show. From 7 to 10 p.m., manicures and makeovers by New York-based Vanity Projects are provided for free. At 8 p.m. the goods are delivered by showstopping female impersonator Raja (winner of the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race). Siren and the rest of St. Louis' best queens also demonstrate how royalty deals with this dreadful season, with DJ Charlie Buttons spinning records after the show until midnight. Admission is completely free.
