In 2007, middle school educator and fledgling emcee Random remixed the chiptunes found on the notoriously difficult 8-bit video game series Mega Man, released a tribute album and everything changed. The album was an unprecedented success, resonating with hip-hop enthusiasts and video game fans alike. With the blessing of Mega Man's publisher Capcom, Random transformed into Mega Ran and rocketed to the forefront of the nerdcore chip-hop scene. Mega Ran's Total Destruction Tour hits St. Louis with a live performance at Star Clipper (6392 Delmar Boulevard, University City). The show kicks off at 6:45 p.m. with a set from St. Louis' own Dr. Dan The Pancake Man, followed by chiptune artists Brental Floss and Danimal Cannon. Mega Ran takes the floor at 8:30 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $5 for admission. For all of the details visit www.facebook.com/StarClipperSTL.
