Asian Kitchen

The other weekend I was invited to Asian Kitchen by some friends who spoke highly of this new Korean restaurant located in U-city. Surrounded by numerous restaurants offering oriental cuisine, Asian Kitchen stands apart by providing a menu of purely traditional Korean food. Their menu offers a variety of entrées that are masterfully prepared by one very talented chef.
My experiences with other Korean restaurants in the St. Louis area have been fine, but not since I was in Busan have I had Korean food this good! The banchan they present is as fresh as it is diverse. They served us with at least seven different side dishes; including some very delicious kimchi, ggakdugi, gyeran jjim, and sigeumchi namul. Our party's entrées included bulgoki (Korean BBQ beef), sundubu jjigae (spicy seafood soup with egg and tofu), jajang myeon (Noodles with beef and vegetables in a black bean sauce), and ojingeo bokum (stir fried squid with vegetables). Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. During our meal the servers provided great service. They were friendly and attentive, yet careful not to be intrusive nor distracting.
This is such a great little restaurant; and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys, or wishes to try, some excellent authentic Korean cuisine.
