With more and more suburban municipalities jumping on the bandwagon to build big and beautiful recreation centers and water parks, it isn't easy singling out one as the best in the region, and holding onto such a title may be tough. Still, no city in the St. Louis area has yet to top Fenton's RiverChase, a gleaming facility visible from Interstate 44. Here, kids can frolic in a swimming pool no matter what the weather. This massive 71,000 square-foot facility, built for $13.5 million, has an indoor leisure pool with lap lanes and an outdoor competition-size pool with a beach entry, water slides, fountains and other play features. Inside are two basketball courts, a fitness facility and indoor track, a game room and children's party room.
