Watson and Laclede Station

Two minutes and 10 seconds was long enough for the Ramones to create any number of masterpieces. It seems an eternity when you're sitting in a car on Watson Road, waiting for the light to change at Laclede Station Road. Between 20 and 25 automobiles will line up at attention, waiting for that special moment when red disappears and green becomes the order of the day. But it's not the length of the pause in your journey that grates so much as the virtual certainty you will lose the red-light lottery every time you approach this intersection. St. Louisans have been known to brag in bars of the time back in their youth they drove right on through, but we give those stories no credence. This stoplight has taken up more collective time than any other in the area.
