Sometimes couples break up but don't really mean it. They've said they're through, they keep insisting they're single, but then a lonely Saturday night rolls around and they hop back together. You can start calling that behavior "pulling a Nadine." A heavy contender for the best band to come out of St. Louis in a decade, the alt-country/indie rockers announced in March they'd be parting ways. But there they were in June, opening for Liz Phair at River Splash. Say what? It's still too early to know whether the members of Nadine are going to start seeing other people. But until they make up their minds, each gig is a bittersweet possible last time -- the musical version of a Saturday-night booty call.
