The Complex - CLOSED
The Complex is a model of gay diversity; most nights the racial makeup of attendees pretty well mirrors the racial makeup of the city. But it doesn't stop with queer folk and fag hags. Anyone who loves to booze in a raucous atmosphere would be wise to invest the $3 cover and take advantage of the Complex's all-you-can-drink-for-$10 special (available nearly every night from 10 p.m. till 1 a.m). Even better: Go on a Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday and take in the city's best drag show, featuring performers like Desiree, Krista, Khrystal, Sable and, of course, crowd favorite Dieta Pepsi. Flattering sound, light and video systems ratchet up the glamorama, but for every queen there are at least a few jealous Jennys. Never fear, ladies: Every third Sunday of the month, the Complex hosts a drag queen Star Search at 10:30 p.m. and midnight.
