WGNU (920 AM)

Readers' Choice: KDHX (FM 88.1)
The mystery of WGNU's call letters was finally revealed at station co-founder Chuck Norman's funeral earlier this year. "It stands for 'We've Got National Unity,'" declared Norman's wet nurse as she wept into Earl Holt's handkerchief. Just kidding. National unity is about the last thing WGNU stands for -- that's the way Norman wanted it, and that's the beauty of it. Traditional Democrats and Republicans are in short supply on this local talk station, which is to KMOX what a page of blotter acid is to a dime bag of dirt weed. From the rantings of white conspiracy theorists like the Couch Potato to the rantings of black conspiracy theorists like Lizz Brown, WGNU can always be counted on to provide (someone's version of) the truth.

I am trying to find out if it is your radio station that I saw on TV last year for giving out toys to people in need for their children at Christmas time. I have a friend who both she and her husband lost their jobs a couple months ago and need a hand. They have two children and will not have a Christmas unless they can find some help. So that is what I am trying to do. I can't remember if it was your station or another local station that has a couple days around Christmas and give out appropriate toys. If you could help I would appreciate it.
