WiseWrite Festival of One-Act Plays

Would you believe sixteen plays in one morning? All written by ten-year-olds? On a damp April morning, fifth graders from Cote Brilliante and Hudson elementary schools descended on the Loretto-Hilton Center for the ninth annual WiseWrite Festival of One-Act Plays. A partnership between the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and Springboard to Learning, WiseWrite allows fifth graders the rare opportunity to see their plays staged by some of the area's most accomplished actors and directors. This ain't necessarily drama for the ages (Tennessee Williams wasn't exactly knocking 'em out at age ten), but it speaks volumes about what's on youngsters' minds -- and who's to say what dividends such encouragement will reap in years to come? The only disappointment of this remarkable spring morning: The audience was upsettingly small. Watch for the tenth annual festival next April.

Is it possible to see the scripts from any of the 10-year-old one acts? We're trying to put together a fifth grade play in the spring (4 one-acts) and we're looking for inspiration. Any help is greatly appreciated.
