Margaret Bianchetta and Mary Dee Brown

Margaret Bianchetta and Mary Dee Brown have known each other for years, but familiarity and friendship can't explain their sound. They share a bond of talent and skill. Whether at a clanky Soulard dive or an upper-crust café, Bianchetta and Brown play music folks want to hear, even if they've never heard any of it before. The women cover blues, jazz and pop, as folk musicians have always done. And they do so with voice, acoustic guitar, violin and flute -- but if that last worries you, rest easy: No one else in St. Louis draws as much sensuality from the instrument as Bianchetta. Brown's fiddle and guitar work provides an earthy, understated and suggestive foil.
