Her star-studded history now graces the turquoise walls at Sweetie Pie's, Montgomery's soul-food joint in north county. Since opening the buffet-style restaurant nearly a decade ago, Montgomery and her family have been serving up candied yams, cornbread, ham hocks and other soul staples. For a mere $8, the Montgomery clan will stack your plate high with a heapin' order of neck bones, accompanied by cornbread and two sides -- corn, mashed potatoes, okra or just about anything that strikes your fancy. The menu changes daily, which means you should visit often. And portions are prodigious, which means you should come hungry.
